This beautiful lake extends 56 miles up the Powell River and 72 miles up the Clinch River and is surrounded by the majestic mountains of East Tennessee. With 34,000 acres and 800 miles of shoreline, there always seems to be a secluded cove waiting for you. So whether you are fishing, camping, boating, or simply enjoying the picturesque shoreline, you are sure to be satisfied with the Lake and the many marinas, free launch facilities, restaurants, cabins, motels, houseboats and campgrounds.


Fishing Norris Lake

There are 14 different types of fish in Norris Lake that include stripped bass, crappie, walleye, large mouth bass and small mouth bass.

Fishing Licenses: You can purchase your fishing licence at the Wal-Mart-that is located at exit 122 (Clinton/Norris) off of Interstate75 or online at www4.wildlifelicense.com/tn/start.php

There are several areas surrounding Norris Lake that you can go hiking which are listed below.

Anderson County Park – 800-524-3602
Anderson County Park is a peninsula on Norris Lake and offers a 6 mile trail for hiking and horseback riding.  Visit www.andersoncountypark.com for more information.

Norris Watershed – 800-524-3602 – map
Experience spectacular views of Norris Lake and its surrounding hills and valleys as you hike, bike ride or horseback over 20 miles of woodland trails that meander through the watershed’s 2,300 acres  and meander along the clinch river.  There are several access areas and plenty of parking.   Trail maps available by emailing info@yallcome.org or calling 800-524-3602.

The park occupies more than 4,000 acres on the shores of Norris Lake and surrounds Norris Dam. Caves, scenic valleys, sparkling streams, wildflower trails and a virgin forest with hiking trails are among the natural wonders of the Park.
